Dr. Rakesh Yogi Pandey, born into a humble Hindu Brahmin family in Varanasi, is a distinguished yogacharya known for his mastery in Hatha Yoga, Kriya Yoga, and Sankhya Yoga. His journey into the world of yoga began under the tutelage of renowned saints, and his dedication to the practice has made him a respected figure in the global yoga community.

Training and Influences

Dr. Rakesh’s initial training in yoga was under Shri Swami Nityanandji Maharaj, a follower of Bengal’s Kriya Yoga School. Under Swami Nityanandji’s guidance, Dr. Rakesh learned the intricate practices of Shatkarmas and Asanas and received his ‘Diksha’ in Kriya Yoga.

He further honed his skills under the guidance of Yogiraj Pandit Rajbali Mishraji, known for his mystique yogic powers. Yogiraj Mishraji taught him advanced Hatha Yoga techniques, enabling Dr. Rakesh to perform extraordinary feats such as stopping his pulse and maintaining Khechari Mudra for extended periods.

Additionally, Dr. Rakesh studied Sidha Yoga under Shri Swami Chandra Mohanji Maharaj from Sawai, Agra (U.P.), and received ‘Diksha’ in Sankhya Yoga from Shri Swami Om Prakash Aranyaji Maharaj.

Dr. Rakesh Yogi Pandey has traveled extensively, sharing his profound knowledge of yoga as a Yoga Master in various countries, including India, Nepal, Singapore, Russia, and Surinam. His teachings emphasize the traditional and authentic aspects of yoga, rooted in ancient practices and wisdom.

Establishment of Yogayatan International

In 2003, Dr. Rakesh founded Yogayatan International in Varanasi. The institution has become a beacon for yoga enthusiasts from around the world, providing comprehensive training in yoga practices.
